This is a part of a mini-series called H1N1 with the production team of Chicago AMP in West Chicago, Illinois. This team is lead by director & writer Andrew Massih and Allec Isshac. I am currently working on the set as Director of Photography. And the Make-Up Artist featured in these photos is Dyan Jorgensen.

We have come together as a dynamic group of people to create some uniquely dramatic and funny. More will come at a later time with links to view H1N1!

A world of pure imagination

Engulfed into a vision

The expansion of a small independent business has lead this artist to creating an ancient Egyptian style masterpiece. This local Chicago artist John French has taken ancient history and made it interesting once again. His piece expands across the floors of a soon be to independently owned lounge called “Cairo.”

This artist has put many days and nights into creating the design, researching the history, and finally painting. His work covers over 20 ft in length with life sized pharaohs, gods, and mythical beings. This is definitely a piece of work that must be seen in person. Every inch is stained with creativity.

The new suburban hot spot Cairo will be open to the public soon in West Chicago, Ill.

St Baldricks holds multiple events; the idea is to not only have men, women, and children shave their heads, but to also raise money. As I walked into this bar I had no idea what was going to happen and before I knew it I was in the middle of this crowd with the tiny women yelling “I need $100 dollars for and Jim will shave off his moustache!” This put a smile to my face because this tiny woman has so much enthusiasm for a wonderful cause. Then I turn around to see a woman with a half shaved head holding a bucket filled with coins and bills walking around asking for donations. As I make my way over to the shaving tables I see more bald heads pop up and the event has only gone on for an hour. There is crowd of people in anticipation to get there heads shaved and others in admiration. The chairs would get filled the buzzers would ring young boys, old men, and women were getting ears lowered all the way to their scalp.

One family had the father and son in the chairs a waiting then in shock the youngest member comes up to her brother with the shaver and does a buzz right down the middle he was terrified and relieved that he survived, then his father was next and got a little nervous when she did more then one stripe down the center!
Another family decided that their babies first cut should really mean something. This kid was a trooper with a smile on his face the whole time!

Moments like this in life make me appreciate the way people can give back to others struggling. Cancer can hit in so many ways and some people have survive and others have been lost along the way, the most important thing is to just be there for them!

A composited image for a different persepective

This blog is an introduction to my paintings, photography, and multimedia pieces. I am student about to graduate with a degree in fine arts, photography, and interdisciplinary studies. I am interested in fine arts and photojournalism. My journals will be contrived of a variety of images from these to studies, as well as some writings to coincide.

I hope when people see this series of images it will provoke a feeling from the depths of your subconscious. I want it to open up the mind to a variety of thoughts: why these images where created and what they represent.
